BOOKLIST!

BOOKS RECENTLY FINISHED:
The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau
The People of Sparks by Jeanne DuPrau
These are great! I know they're for younger readers, but I had fun reading them anyways!

What Jesus Meant by Garry Wills
I completely disagreed with most everything in this book. He presents a Jesus that none of us can possibly follow, which is one thing. But then he shows Jesus as someone we don't want to follow for societal reasons, and that we are called to be different than Jesus. I strongly disagree.

Out of Sight by Elmore Leonard
I like his gritty, down to earth characters!

Godless: How an Evangelical Preacher Became One of America's Leading Atheists by Dan Barker
I understand where this guy's coming from. He has some very valid points.

The Inescapable Love of God by Thomas Talbott
Loved this book! I can see that believing in a loving God does not mean I have to be a judgmental Christian.
It makes so much sense!

The Golden Thread: God's Promise of Universal Salvation by Ken Vincent
This book is really more of a collection of verses straight from the bible supporting universalism (God loves everyone)

BOOKS I'M CURRENTLY READING:
Divine Misfortune by A. Lee Martinez (I've misplaced it somewhere!)
A hilarious book! Reminds me of (author of Topper) Thorne Smith's Night Life of the Gods

Living Buddha, Living Christ by Thich Nhat Hanh
Great book. I'm actually re-reading it, as I read it a couple of years ago.

BOOKS I'M JUST ABOUT FINISHED WITH:
The Tale of the Body Thief by Anne Rice
The way she puts sentences and paragraphs together-- pure poetry!

BOOKS I'VE JUST STARTED:
Called Out of Darkness: A Spiritual Confession by Anne Rice
Very good so far. I've only read about 3 chapters.

BOOKS I'M TAKING MY OWN SWEET TIME ON:
No Boundary: Eastern and Western Approaches to Personal Growth by Ken Wilber
Have to take Wilber very slow, digesting what he's getting across.
I have to be in the right mood and mindset to fully give him the attention needed!

All Else is Bondage by Wei Wu Wei
Very deep, methodical.

Welcome to my new web log.

I want to keep things very simple. I find it a lot easier to put pen to paper, but that method makes it hard to publish, doesn't it?

I think that I have valuable things to say. I've lived 50 years on this planet, and it seems to me that I should have some wisdom that could be valuable to someone, somewhere.

Wisdom should be something that helps someone. Practical tools for life.

You may or may not need the same tools that I have found useful, and that's OK.

The best tool, of course, is the uncarved block, because it can be made into anything. In other words, your best chance at adapting to whatever life brings to you is from keeping an open mind!
